On the night of March 9th, 2012, LKY School Shanghai Alumni Association held its first council meeting of 2012 in the Gong De Lin Club House, which was hosted by the President Mr. Ji Xiaoye.

Before the council meeting, a brief ceremony was held to engage four distinguished individuals as the honorable council members of Shanghai Alumni Association. They were Mr. Xuan Guoling, Assistant General Manager of China Construction First Building (Group) Corporation Ltd; Mr. Chen Shuda, Chairman of the Board of Yongrong Corporation Ltd; Ms. Huang Haiyan, CEO of Shanghai Heyin Industrial Development Corporation Ltd and Mr. Liu Xinrong, General Manager of Shanghai De Kun Lin Business Development Corporation Ltd. These four honourable council members have made contributions in various types to the Shanghai Alumni Club. In the meantime, Shanghai Gong De Lin Vegetarian Food Corporation and Charity Society of East China Sea Guanyin Temple have been confirmed to be the cooperative organizations of Shanghai Alumni Club. Particularly, Shanghai Gong De Lin Vegetarian Food Corporation has provided its Gong De Lin Club House, located in the Huang He Road, to be the club house of Shanghai Alumni Club, in facilitating it to hold all kinds of activities in the future. By leveraging with these two platforms, Shanghai Alumni Club will carry out more charity activities in serving public interests. Both of Consul-General Mr. ONG Siew Gay and Vice Consul-General Mr. Chi Chiew Sum of Singapore Consulate General in Shanghai have attended this ceremony.

After the ceremony, the council meeting was held and it reviewed the activities and projects held in the first quarter and discussed the plan in the next step. Apart from the normal administrative work on capacity building of Shanghai Alumni Club, it has decided to launch four major events this year, which are one influential forum, one policy paper with great impact, one meaningful field visits and one interesting sports or entertainment event.
