Q: What services are available for participants with disabilities? A: Our campus has been designed with handicap-friendly features such as handicap lifts, handrails and gentle slopes for easy movement.
Q: What sort of security precautions do I need to be aware of? A: Please check all visa requirements before you commence your travel.

Accommodations
Q: Are all participants required to live in the accommodation arranged by the School? A: Accommodation can be arranged through individual client organisations, according to your organisation’s preferences. Overseas participants of SMP are strongly encouraged to use the hotel accommodation provided by the School, for the convenience of transportation to and from LKYSPP.
Q: Would I have access to the internet? Should I bring my own laptop? A: There is a wireless network available in the campus. This service is free of charge. Power points are also easily available in the campus. However, your laptop should have built-in wireless capability to access this service. For those unable to bring their laptops, a visitor’s business centre is located close to the course venue, which is equipped with 2 computers and a printer. Participants can use these facilities outside of course hours.
Q: What are the traveling arrangements on my first day? A: Upon arrival at Singapore Changi International Airport, please collect your bags from the baggage claim area downstairs. Your organisation would have made arrangements for your airport transfer. Otherwise, the Executive Education unit could also assist in liaising with the hotel.
Q: Are meals provided? A: We can arrange for meals, according to the preferences of the client organisations. A canteen with a wide selection of local fare is located in Block B of the campus.
Q: Are special meals available? A: We will make arrangements for the entire group who are involved in the executive programme. Individual preferences will be taken into consideration on a case-by-case basis.
Q: Are accommodations available for family members? A: Unfortunately, accommodations are currently available only for course participants, subject to the arrangements with the organizers from the client organizations.
Admissions Procedure

Q: What are your admissions requirements for SMP and EDPA? A: SMP participants are senior executives from the government, non-profit and private sectors who are earmarked to be the next generation of leaders in their organisations. The ideal SMP candidate is a senior functional head or director of an organization with at least 8 years of significant managerial experience. As the programme will be conducted in English, participants must be proficient in the language.
The EDPA is customized and designed for organisations interested in sending their mid-career executives through a rigorous renewal programme. The specific requirements are therefore subject to review and slight variations from each organization. A benchmark is for candidates to have attained a good honours degree or equivalent (eg. a four-year Bachelors degree with at least an average grade of B or equivalent) and a minimum of five years of relevant working experience. A good command of the English language is necessary.
Q: How long does it take to process my application for SMP? A: You will receive a verification email upon application for SMP. You will be notified of the success of your application within one month from your application, or two months before the commencement of the Programme, whichever is earlier.
Q: Are there application requirements for your Customised Programmes? A: Our customised programmes are designed to suit the client organizations’ training objectives. As such, application requirements are subject to respective organisations’ specification.

Q: When will I receive the programme itinerary and pre-course readings for SMP? A: You will receive the programme itinerary and pre-course readings three weeks before the commencement of the Programme.
Attire
Q: What is the typical attire for an executive during a programme? A: For the duration of the course, the attire will be business casual – light suits without ties.
Q: What is appropriate wear for the Singapore climate? A: The weather in Singapore in November is tropical with average daily temperatures of between 26 to 31 degrees Celsius (79 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit). It can often be hot and humid. Be prepared for plenty of rain showers. Please bring clothing suitable for a tropical climate. A light jacket is recommended as it can get quite cold in airconditioned offices.

Q: Where is the nearest bus-stop and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station?
If you are coming from Farrer Road/Adam Road, the nearest bus-stop is along Dunearn road (after the SPC petrol station).
If you are coming from Newton/Town, please alight along Bukit Timah Road (after NUS signage panel).
The nearest MRT station is Newton MRT station. You can board bus 171 and alight along Bukit Timah Road.

Q: When is payment due? A: Payment is due upon confirmation of your application for SMP.
Q: What types of payment are available? A: You or the sponsoring organisation can make payments by the following methods:
1. Payment by Cheque/ Bank Draft Cheques/Bank drafts must be made payable to “National University of Singapore” with the tax invoice number written on the reverse. Q: What is your cancellation policy? A: The cancellation policy for SMP is a forfeiture sum of 30% of the total course fee (inclusive of 7% GST) if cancellation is made less than 30 days before the commencement of the programme.
Q: Is financial aid available? A: Financial aid is not offered by the LKYSPP for our executive education programmes. We will, however, be happy to provide confirmation letters for participants’ sponsoring organisations.
Q: What is included in the programme fee? A: The SMP programme fees covers the full programme fees, course materials, transport from the school various sites for visitation, and 1 lunch and 2 tea breaks for all programme days. For overseas participants, the fees are inclusive of accommodation at a four-star hotel (breakfast included), two-way transport between hotel and School as well as two-way airport transfers.
Programmes and Learning Model
Q: What is the usual class size? A: The usual class size ranges from 25 to 40 participants.
Q: How much time can I expect to spend on coursework everyday? A: Each day is typically made up of 2 3-hour sessions. Participants for the SMP as well as the customized programmes can expect to be provided with extra reading materials (eg. case studies and articles) and course work.
Q: Where do the programmes take place? A: The programmes can take place in LKYSPP premises as well as in a location of the client organisation’s choice. SMP is delivered in LKYSPP at the Li Ka Shing Building.
Q: How are the courses taught? A: Our faculty’s approach places heavy emphasis on interactive teaching methods, including simulations, case studies, debates and panel discussions in addition to the presentation of new analytical frameworks, with the aim of engaging participants as experienced practitioners.
Q: Do I earn credits for the Executive Programmes I attend? A: Participants will receive a certificate of participation at the end of the SMP or customised programmes. However, these do not count towards accumulative credits for other courses held within LKYSPP or NUS.
Candidates who satisfying all course requirements of the Executive Graduate Diploma in Public Administration (EGDPA) will receive a Graduate Diploma in Public Administration awarded by the National University of Singapore. This will count towards credits for the continuation path for Master in Public Administration (MPA). However, acceptance is subject to the entry requirements of the MPA.
Q: What is the frequency of SMP, and Customised Programmes? A: The SMP is held annually, while the frequency of our customized programmes is quite flexible and subject to the training needs of the client organisations.
Q: Are LKYSPP’s Executive Programmes linked to other similar Executive Education institutions in Singapore and globally? A: SMP is jointly delivered by LKYSPP and the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, New York. The faculty involved in SMP and our customized programmes may also include faculty from other Executive Education institutions with the required areas of expertise.
