With its strategic location at the crossroads of Asia, the School welcomes eminent speakers who share their expertise and insights on key policy issues with the community. These public lectures, conferences and seminars are opportunities for students and faculty to engage the speakers in lively debates and critical discussions.
The School has hosted prominent policymakers, including HE Paul Kagame (President of the Republic of Rwanda), Mr P Chidambaram, India’s Finance Minister, Mr Tony Blair (Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom), Lord Christopher Patten (former European Union Commissioner and the last British governor of Hong Kong), Amb. Christopher Hill (US Assistant Secretary of State), Mr Xiang Huaicheng (Chairman, National Council for Social Security Fund, People’s Republic of China), Mr Ahmed Aboul Gheit (Egyptian Foreign Minister), Mrs Ton Nu Thi Ninh (National Assembly of Vietnam Member), Mr Tommaso Padoa Schiopp (current Economy and Finance Minister of Italy), Dr Ma Ying-jeou, Mayor of Taipei City, Taiwan and Chairman of the Kuomintang), Mr Lee Kuan Yew (Minister Mentor of Singapore), Mr George Yeo (Minister for Foreign Affair, Singapore), and Mr Mah Bow Tan (Minister for National Development, Singapore).
