Ngiam Tong Dow is currently the Chairman of Surbana Corporation Pte Ltd, and concurrently a Director of United Overseas Bank Ltd, Singapore Press Holdings Ltd, and Yeo Hiap Seng Ltd. Prior to his present appointments, Tong Dow held numerous appointments in the public and private sectors. These appointments included the chairmanship of various statutory boards and companies, including the Economic Development Board, the Singapore Technologies Holdings, The Development Bank of Singapore and the Central Provident Fund Board.

He also held the post of Permanent Secretary in several key government ministries, including the Ministry of Finance, the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of National Development.
