The MPM is a one-year programme for highly accomplished individuals who hold senior leadership positions in the public, private and non-profit sectors. The programme teaches advanced public management practices and provides direct exposure to the inner workings of Singapore Government agencies through a six-week attachment. MPM students are also introduced to American politics, society and culture through semester-long studies at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government or Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
Singaporean MPM students are given the option to undertake their attachment programme in overseas agencies. The objective is to provide Singapore students already familiar with the local system with a wider perspective on public management issues and practices.
To maintain the quality of the MPM programme, the School has maintained a stringent selection process and kept the class size small. The average enrolment for an MPM cohort is around 20-25 students, of which approximately 75% are from overseas.
