Li Ka-shing talks of leadership and self-governance
HK tycoon Li Ka Shing speaking at a dedication ceremony for the “Li Ka Shing Building” at the LKY SPP, hailed those individuals who choose to serve in public administration. In March this year, Mr Li donated $100 million to the school to set up an endowment fund to train young policy makers across the region. The school will use the money to fund scholarships and establish chair professorships.

LKY School building named after Li Ka Shing
In honour of HK tycoon Li Ka shing’s $100m donation to the LKYSPP at NUS, the school named one of its 3 buildings at the Bukit Timah campus after him. Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, who spoke at the event, thanked Mr Li on behalf of Singapore government for his gift. MM Lee said these scholarships will benefit students from China, Hong Kong, India and Asean countries, to train future leaders.

Li’s gift to help train future leaders
Entrepreneur Li Ka Shing’s gift of $100m to LKYSPP can help train future leaders in the region, said Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew yesterday at the dedication ceremony of the Li Ka-shing building. Li said his gift, which was announced in March, to the school was a tribute to all those who choose to serve the public.

Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy named a building as “Li Ka Shing” Building
LLKYSPP held a dedication ceremony yesterday to officially name one of its buildings after HK tycoon Li Ka Shing, in honour of his $100m gift to the school. The gift will be matched by the Singapore government and will be used to create an endowment fund. Prof Kishore Mahbubani, Dean of LKYSPP said that with this endowment fund, the school will be able to groom and nurture a new generation of Asian policy makers.

Double master's with LKY School tie-up

The LKYSPP has joined the Global Public Policy Network. Dean of the LKY School Professor Kishore Mahbubani was quoted as highlighting that although the School had been set up for less than 3 years, it was able to join the Global Public Policy Network. To him, this has been a "Guinness World Record" achievement.
