“By far the most interesting academic experience was being a part of Prof. Huang Jing’s Security in Asia Pacific class, especially the heated debates on the sensitive Taiwan issue and the recent tensions in the South China Sea,” she says.
Why did you decide to come to the LKY School?
Nearing the end of my Law degree in India, I was eager to broaden my educational experience to the areas of International relations, diplomacy and conflict studies. I chose the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy primarily due to its Asian focus compared to rest of its fellow schools of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA).
What do you hope to do now that you have earned your degree? If you have found a job, is it what you expected?
I hope to get a good start to my career in international relations and security research, especially with an Asian focus. I believe Singapore is not only a great country to be based from, but also a good model of governance to learn from.
What has been your most memorable or unusual experience thus far? (academic and social)
By far the most interesting academic experience was being a part of Prof. Huang Jing’s Security in Asia Pacific class, especially the heated debates on the sensitive Taiwan issue and the recent tensions in the South China Sea. The most memorable moment LKY experience was organizing an India-Pakistan Independence Day party. Being an Indian it was great to organize a combined Independence Day party with my fellow Pakistan classmates!
