The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is looking for an Executive for its administration department. The Institute is an autonomous policy research think tank in the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.
The main responsibilities of the Executive are:
To coordinate, administer and manage conferences and other events. This includes ensuring that management, researchers and administration staff work closely for the success of the Institute’s events. The Executive will also handle all logistical aspects of events, including liaising with speakers, booking hotels, arranging for participant registration, communicating with the media, preparing conference kits, and taking charge of duties of event secretariats.
To maintain the Institute’s database used in the invitation of participants for events.
To assist in other administrative duties, as assigned
Interested applicants must:
Have at least a Bachelors degree, preferably majoring in English, Mass Communications, Political Science or Business Administration
Preferably with 2 years working experience. Fresh graduates with a keen interest in event organising may also apply
Be hardworking and motivated and possess good interpersonal skills
Have a strong command of both written and spoken English
Be methodical and organised
Be able to work under pressure
Be a good team player
Be literate in Microsoft Office, preferably with a very good working knowledge in MS Access
