Dr Leong Chan-Hoong is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies.
Dr Leong is a psychologist and statistician by training. He received his PhD from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. His research interests include attitudes to immigration and emigration, intergroup relations and integration, identity formation and change, socio-psychological adaptation of immigrants and sojourners, and the management of cultural diversity in the workplace. Dr Leong has published scientific papers in regional and international books and journals on migration and intercultural relations. Prior to his current appointment, Dr Leong was the Head of Psychology Programme at the SIM University, and before that, he was a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore. He served as the Vice-Chairman for 2010 REACH’s Policy Study Workgroup on Integration matters.
