Dr Leong Chan-Hoong is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies.
Dr Leong is a psychologist by training. He received his PhD from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. His research interests include issues related to immigration and emigration, mutual intergroup attitudes and integration, identity formation and change, national identity and rootedness, socio-psychological adjustment of immigrants and sojourners, management of cultural diversity in the workplace, and the development of civil societies in Singapore. Dr Leong has published scientific papers in regional and international books and journals on migration and intercultural relations. Prior to his current appointment, Dr Leong was the Head of Psychology Program at the SIM University, and before that, he was a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Asia Research Institute (ARI), National University of Singapore.
