Mr Sarjune Ibrahim S/O Sitheek is a Research Assistant at the Institute of Policy Studies and supports the work of the Economic and Business cluster. His research involves the study of the Singapore economy in the global context and how various policy decisions guiding the economic growth model affects the economic and social sectors.
Sarjune graduated with a Master of Social Sciences majoring in Applied Economics from the National University of Singapore. He obtained his Bachelor of Science majoring in Economics and Management from the University of London, London School of Economics.
During his course of study, he has done extensive research on the Southeast Asian ‘Tigers’ and their growth models, in comparison with big economies like China and India. He emphasizes the importance to study on both developed and developing economies to have a full understanding of the reasons for the varying levels of growth amongst them. His broader interest includes development economics, industrial organization, financial markets and international trade and finance. |
