| Synopsis: |
|
Dr Shahid Yusuf has completed a critical review of the contribution of the World Development Report series and published his findings, along with key commentaries in his recent publication “Development Economics Through the Decades”. He will be presenting the key conclusions and assessment of the main strands of thoughts in the field of development economics at this seminar. How has the measure of international development through indicators of agriculture, the role of the state, economic growth, and labor to infrastructure, health, the environment, and poverty contributed to a country’s development? How has policy making and development thought benefitted from the annual reporting? Are these indicators useful for the future challenges that the world face? Dr Yusuf will be discussing these issues at the presentation. |
