Date:Friday, 24 October 2008 Time: Venue:Grand Ballroom, The Pines
| Synopsis: |
Singapore's population, as elsewhere, is seeing an increasing number and proportion of older persons. However, the experience of ageing is likely to be different for men and women due to differences in their family status and life experiences. This conference addresses the issues of whether older men and women in Singapore are prepared financially and otherwise for successful ageing, the measures in place and new policies and measures that may be required. There will be a keynote address by Ms Thelma Kay, Chief, Social Development Division, UNESCAP, and a dialogue session with Minister (PMO) Lim Boon Heng. Academics and practitioners are also invited to look at issues such as financial resources, employment, healthcare financing and housing equity.
