| Speaker's Profile |
Ho Ching joined Temasek in May 2002. Over the 7 years since, the firm has actively reshaped its portfolio to reflect the growth opportunities in Asia.
In early 2004, the exempt private investment company first publicly reported its 30-year total shareholder returns by market value of 18% compounded annually. Temasek subsequently engaged the market through its AAA/Aaa credit rating by S&P and Moody’s in late 2004, and its US$1.75 billion maiden global bond in late 2005. These activities are in line with the firm’s goal of managing for value based on sound financial discipline.
Ho Ching spent the first 11 years of her career in the Defence Engineering Service of the Ministry of Defence. She joined the Singapore Technologies group in 1987, and headed the group in the last 5 years of her 14 year stint with the group. She studied engineering at the University of Singapore under the President’s Scholarship of the Republic of Singapore. She was later sponsored by the Loke Foundation to do her Masters at Stanford University in the United States
