IPS Perception of Policies in Singapore Survey POPS(4) – IPS Post-Election Survey 2011 May 2011
POPS, or Perception of Policies in Singapore Survey, is a series of short surveys on issues of public interest conducted by the Institute of Policy Studies. The series seeks to provide timely snap-shots of how stakeholders are affected, would be affected by, or perceive the impact of the policy area being investigated.
'POPS(4): IPS Post-Election Survey 2011 is similar to the survey that was conducted after the general election held in 2006. This one, conducted after the May 2011 election provides a comparison of what issues mattered to voters then, what they looked for in their candidates, the types of communications channels they referred to with voters in 2011. The trend spotted in 2006, that respondents in the higher socio-economic groups desire a higher level of political pluralism than others held fast in 2011.
Conducted between 8 to 20 May, POPS(4) data is based on a weighted sample of 2080 responses from Singapore citizens of voting age and above, gathered through a telephone poll by a survey firm commissioned by IPS.
