Singapore Perspectives 2008 [Special Edition] Singapore Futures: Scenarios for the Next Generation
What will life in Singapore be like in 2030?
What can we do today to increase the likelihood of achieving what is desirable and avoiding what is undesirable?
The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) celebrates her 20th anniversary in 2008. To commemorate the occasion, IPS presents a special edition of her flagship conference, Singapore Perspectives, entitled “Singapore Futures: Scenarios for the Next Generation.” The conference seeks to stimulate discussions among government leaders, intellectuals and other thinking Singaporeans.
Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and renowned futurist, Mr Peter Schwartz of the Global Business Network, United States, are keynote speakers at the conference.
An IPS team will present the outcomes of its scenario planning exercise on Singapore in 2030. There are sessions that focus specifically on possible developments in the areas of international relations, business and economic development, urban planning, demography, culture and society and politics presented by leading young thinkers of the country.
The conference ends with a dialogue session with a very special panel of Cabinet Ministers on participants’ reflections on their own vision and concerns about the future of Singapore as an economy, society, polity and country.
