| Synopsis: |
|
As global economic power continues to shift from Western nations to Asian giants and emerging nations; as digital technologies burgeon as both drivers and enablers of change; and as new industries offer new possibilities while requiring different kinds of development partnerships, the innovation imperative takes on increasing urgency and new form. World class companies, small and large, increasingly create and maintain marketplace advantages in the new global competitions through their core values and corporate culture.
Social investments and community involvement appear on their strategic agendas as a source of global control and coherence, employee motivation, and innovation in products and services. These companies can innovate faster, integrate acquisitions more effectively, build their brands, and enhance customer and consumer relationships. Such companies are not only profitable, but they contribute to economic development, helping ensure favourable market conditions.
Through her research on some of the world's best companies, Professor Kanter will illuminate the values and leadership skills that create high-performing companies combining innovation and social responsibility. She will show how leaders can create an internal culture of confidence that fuels self-perpetuating 'winning streaks' -- sustainable success pathways involving continuous innovation and productive change. |
