“Nearing the end of my undergraduate studies, I sought a precise public policy skill-set to accompany my International Relations degree. As an Australian I was drawn to the LKY School's strong Asia-focus, and this became a deciding factor when selecting a school from the prestigious Global Public Policy Network. After a century of following European and North American policy initiatives, Australia is having an identity crisis: culturally Western but geographically Eastern. I wanted to be part of a new generation of Australians able to bridge that divide. Now in my first semester, my dormant quantitative analysis skills have been challenged in the core courses, while my elective has allowed me to pursue my interest in ethnic politics in South East Asia. The LKY School’s focus on group work has allowed me to collaborate with experienced policy-makers from every continent, each well versed in traditional and emerging policy challenges. This has been complemented by a constant stream of high-calibre guest lecturers from around the world.”
