Insights into Politics and Policy in Asia for Global Leaders

Overview
The world has changed. Asia, driven by the growth of its two giants, China and India, is rapidly emerging as the focal point of global politics and policy. In this dynamic environment, aspiring leaders, policymakers and opinion formers need an increasingly nuanced understanding of how different players in the region are both driving and responding to change, and what the implications are for the people of Asia and worldwide.
The course offers an unparalleled opportunity to talk to politicians, dignitaries and experts from the region about the rise of Asia and the implication for the world. It will expose participants to first-hand insights into rapidly changing international dynamics and offer different perspectives on what this might mean for the rest of the world.
Admission requirements
This course is only open to Young Global Leaders members. Application closing date is Monday 25 June 2012.
The World Economic Forum has established a comprehensive selection process to identify the most outstanding young leaders around the world and recognise them for their individual professional accomplishments and commitment to society, as well as their potential to provide inspiring leadership. Young Global Leaders who want to have a deeper understanding of how to keep pace with the changing global dynamics in order to effectively address some of the most pressing issues facing our world today are invited to apply.
Note: Applications will be assessed by an independent panel and you should expect to receive a response by Friday 13 July 2012. Participants will be selected based on the quality of thought put into to the essay questions. Care will also be taken to ensure sufficient regional and industry mix so as all participants will have an enriching and vibrant experience.
Fees
This programme is made possible through the support of Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, and as such tuition is free. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. However travel, accommodation, insurance and any other incidentals are the responsibility of participants.
Withdrawal fee
Withdrawals must be received in writing by both the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and the Young Global Leaders team. There is a cancellation fee of 500CHF for withdrawals notified between 4 weeks and 2 weeks before the programme start date, and a 1,000CHF cancellation fee for later cancellations or no shows.
